The Lumen IQ™ Commander
The Lumen IQ™ Commander is a dedicated hand held PC programmer that is used to communicate via 900 Mhz RF radio with Lumen IQ™ C200 Lamp Controllers during installation in the field.
The Lumen IQ™ Commander serves two key roles:
- It acts as a commissioning device for each lamp controller installed in the field:
- Loading the lamp controller with default operating parameters (these can also be loaded at the factory at the client's request);
- Associating the unique Lumen IQ C300 Lamp Controller ID with the unique pole ID;
- Assigning a GPS location to the pole using the pole's ID;
- Setting the Real Time Clock inside the microprocessor;
- Capturing all of the asset inventory data for the lamp fixture, including the manufacturer and model of luminaire, ballast, capacitor and igniter.
Once back at the office, field personnel can easily upload all commissioning information to Lumen IQ Central using a docking station. After commissioning, each Lumen IQ™ C200 Lamp Controller becomes visible to the Lumen IQ™ Street Light Optimization System.
- It acts as field servicing device:
- It enables field personnel to zero in on the exact lamp fixture that requires repair or replacement (during the daytime when the lamps are off, finding the faulty lamp can be a challenge).
- It is used to check inventory in/out of the lamp fixture as the changes are made to luminaires, ballasts, capacitors, igniters, etc. This is important for performance management, predictive maintenance, and the validation of warranty claims.
- Every action taken in the field is dated, time stamped and recorded. This information can be used to confirm the services of contracted field crews.
The Lumen IQ™ Commander features a user-friendly interface and an easy, menu-style format for the initial setup of the lamp controller. It requires minimal technical expertise or training to be used effectively by field personnel.
